Making the world’s best sports cars even faster, more powerful and more individual is the specialty of NOVITEC ROSSO. The world’s leading tuner for the cars from Maranello now also offers a sophisticated tuning program for the new lightweight-design model Ferrari 430 Scuderia.

At the heart is the NOVITEC ROSSO Supersport Bi-Kompressor engine that bumps power output from standard 510 hp / 375 kW to 717 hp / 527 kW and increases top speed from 320 to 348 km/h.

There is no such thing as a too powerful sports car. The NOVITEC ROSSO specialists have developed a special twin-supercharger version of the Scuderia’s four-valve eight-cylinder engine.

Each cylinder bank is equipped with its own toothed belt driven high-performance mechanical supercharger and a generously dimensioned water-cooled intercooler. Boost pressure of the superchargers is limited to 0.48 bar. A newly designed heat-insulated intake manifold with larger ports provides the engine with pre-compressed air. Two high-performance air filters and eight larger injectors complete the engine conversion on the intake side.

The perfect interaction of all NOVITEC ROSSO performance components is coordinated by a newly programmed engine management system. This benefits perfect running smoothness as well as maximum power output and unquestionable durability.

The conversion further includes higher-capacity coolant systems for water and oil plus additional dedicated coolant cycles for both compressors and intercoolers.

The elaborate NOVITEC ROSSO Supersport Bi-Kompressor conversion is also available for all other Ferrari F430 Berlinetta models and costs 47,000 Euros. It delivers performance that sets it apart even from other super sports cars.

717 hp / 527 kW at 8,350 rpm represent an increase in maximum power output of 207 hp / 152.3 kW over the production car. Simultaneously peak torque grows from standard 470 Nm to 722 Nm at 6,250 rpm.

Performance of the Scuderia benefits accordingly: The tuned Scuderia sprints from rest to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds and reaches 200 km/h after just 10.1 seconds. Only 26.1 seconds pass before the two-seater reaches a speed of 300 km/h. But the NOVITEC ROSSO Bi-Kompressor also improves performance beyond those speeds: Equipped with optionally available longer gear ratios top speed increases to 348 km/h.

The custom-tailored NOVITEC ROSSO tire/wheel combination for the Ferrari offers more striking looks and further improved driving dynamics. The stock Scuderia comes with 19-inch wheels while the tuner offers three-piece 20-inch wheels for this car.

The NOVITEC ROSSO NF3 double-spoke wheels were designed to in effect widen the Ferrari’s track thus allowing even higher cornering speeds. They are mounted in size 8.5Jx20 in front and in size 12Jx20 on the rear axle. Technology partner PIRELLI provides custom-tailored high-performance tires in size 235/30 ZR 20 in front and in size 325/25 ZR 20 in the rear.

NOVITEC ROSSO sport springs further lower the center of gravity and also contribute to optimized handling characteristics. The tuner further offers a suspension feature for the Scuderia that optimizes its suitability for everyday use. The innovative hydraulic lift system for the front axle can be activated with a switch in the interior. With seconds the front is raised by 40 millimeters, making entering underground parking garages or driving over low curbs or speed bumps much easier. Upon a second push of the button or automatically when reaching a speed of 80 km/h, the front reverts to its original position.

NOVITEC ROSSO refines the exterior of the Ferrari 430 Scuderia with discrete components such as black tail lights, lateral turn signals and reflectors.

NOVITEC ROSSO also offers exclusive and functional details for the interior of the lightweight-design Ferrari. The NOVITEC ROSSO sport steering wheel with its leather/carbon-fiber material combination features a flattened bottom for easier entering and exiting of the vehicle while its ergonomically correct shape provides optimal grip. The carbon-fiber NOVITEC ROSSO shift paddles are longer than their production counterparts and make manual gearshifts of the F1-SuperFast2 transmission even easier.

Scuderia owners can choose any colors imaginable for the NOVITEC ROSSO treatment of the interior. More pictures in the gallery.

Maranello, 25 June 2008 - The Official Ferrari Magazine, the new publication for Ferrari clients worldwide, opens with a truly unique interview. Produced in collaboration with world lifestyle publications leader, Condè Nast, the first issue of the magazine sees Ferrari President and Fiat Group Chairman Luca di Montezemolo being interviewed by Michael Schumacher.

One of the many questions posed by Schumacher, who is well aware of Montezemolo’s reactions when a GP doesn’t go well, was: “President, how many TVs have you smashed on my account after watching F1?” to which Montezemolo replies “I’d say four” with Schumacher joking “It’s a good thing you didn’t send me the bill then…”

Ferrari Magazine is a lively and interesting mix of cars, racing culture, fashion and design seen from the point of view of the Ferrari world and the passionate individuals who buy these superb cars.

The first issue includes, for instance, a lively conversation between two famous Ferrari clients, musician Nick Mason and singer Jason Kay, and an interview with architect Renzo Piano who reveals his concept of creativity through his extraordinary plans for the architectural development of the Maranello factory. Issue number 1 also includes a feature on the new Ferrari California with beautiful illustrations so realistic that they really make the reader want to reach out and touch it. Formula 1 is covered through the codes used in the Grands Prix with Massa and Raikkonen starring as magical protagonists in a world that is at once always the same and always different.

Other themes addressed in the first issue of The Official Ferrari Magazine include a fascinating dissertation on the role of Italian art, design and culture in the evolution of Ferrari taste and style written by the legendary Stephen Bayley, as well as a piece on the role played by unique choices in lifestyles written by top Vogue journalist Harriet Quick, who introduces the Ferrari Scaglietti One to One personalisation programme.

The large format (330×240) 180-page magazine is published in English only to embrace its worldwide target and does not neglect the world of fashion either. That subject is covered in a truly fascinating photo spread that sees the Ferrari apparel range photographed with pieces from the top international designer collections by one of the most sought after photographers of the moment, Robert Wyatt.

The official Ferrari Magazine editor-in-chief Antonio Ghini, who has been part of the team brought in by Montezemolo to turn around Ferrari’s fortunes for 15 years now, is flanked by a high profile team, including renowned journalist Jason Barlow as Editor and Rebecca Smith (formerly of Wallpaper and Vogue) as Art Director. It will be published quarterly with each edition focusing on a particular theme: the first issue, for example, takes the world of signs as its subject. It will be followed by issues on language, colours, design and so forth. The fourth issue each year, published in December, will be extended to 280 pages and will replace the traditional Ferrari Yearbook published throughout its history by the Prancing Horse for its friends and collaborations. This issue will continue the tradition of revisiting the year just gone by with significant space dedicated to the Formula 1 season, new models and, in the 2008 edition, Ferrari’s Magic India Discovery tour which saw two Ferraris driven across the subcontinent by a relay of international journalists.

The launch of the official Ferrari magazine has been greeted with enormous interest by the international advertising world. The initial 30,000 copies will all be sent directly to Ferrari owners who we are confident will welcome the new magazine warmly and collect it carefully. Ferrari owners are the perfect target readership both in socio-economic terms and in terms of an interest in reading about Ferrari and the companies that choose to be part of this exclusive publication.

In response to huge demand for subscriptions from enthusiasts also, Ferrari has decided, whilst retaining the exclusivity of the project, to make an initial batch of subscriptions available at a price of 250 Euro per year for the four issues. To support this activity a call centre (+39 02 6423386) and an e-mail address multi-language (subscriptionmagazine@ferrari.it) have been created.

New Ferrari California revealed: a hugely versatile, innovation-packed GT

Maranello, May 13th 2008 - The first official photographs have been published of the Ferrari California, the latest addition to the new generation of Ferraris launched in 2004 with the 612 Scaglietti and added to more recently with the 430 Scuderia.

The Ferrari California joins the Prancing Horse’s 8-cylinder family which has always been defined by power and performance. It also flanks the flagship 612 Scaglietti in the prestige sporty Grand Tourer segment.

The new Ferrari California will satisfy even the most demanding of owners in term of its superb vehicle dynamics and driving pleasure. The new model will be available exclusively as a convertible with a folding hard top. Both chassis and bodywork are aluminium, in line with the rest of the current range. The California will be powered by a new V8 engine mounted for the first time in the marque’s history in the mid-front position.

In line with Ferrari tradition, the new model also features several innovations. Apart from its folding hard top, these include the original 2+ concept which guarantees exceptional versatility of use in the rear of the car. The California’s 4,300 cc V8 engine features direct fuel injection and a “flat” crankshaft. It generates 460 CV at 7,500 rpm with a torque curve that enhances vehicle dynamics and provides maximum driving pleasure which is typical for Ferrari.

As per the traditional Ferrari transaxle layout, the engine, which allows the Ferrari California to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 4.0 seconds, will be coupled to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission that boosts the car’s performance while enhancing the driving pleasure, improves ride comfort and reduces fuel consumption and emissions (c.310 g/km CO2). The comfort is further enhanced by a new multilink rear suspension system. The Ferrari California is also equipped with the exclusive F1-Trac traction control system which made its debut on the 599 GTB Fiorano and has been further honed to suit the typical driving conditions expected for this new GT. Brembo brakes featuring carbon-ceramic material disks as standard guarantee superbly efficient braking.

In addition to sporting the marque’s classic styling cues, the cabin has also been beautifully trimmed using quality materials by Ferrari’s own skilled artisans. New accessories and equipment, such as the seats, steering wheel, instrument panel and infotainment system, together with optimised aerodynamics ensure that this is a highly ergonomic and enjoyable car to drive regardless of whether the top is up or down.

The Ferrari California is aimed at owners who desire a car which embodies everything the Prancing Horse represents in terms of sporty design and innovation, but also seek a car with greater versatility than ever. The car will be officially unveiled to the public at the Paris International Car Show. However, over the coming weeks, new photographs and further details about it will also be published.
